Liz remembers moving aside Reiko's hair and seeing her face on the stairs. He was in Doctors Without Borders with her and was reminded of a case in the Mariana Islands. He explains that was his late wife Reiko. She goes to Finn's office and sees Reiko's picture on his phone. Liz doesn't know who the woman is that she just drew. Liz draws a picture of the woman at the bottom of the stairs as Finn looks through photos on his phone including one of him and Reiko with the deceased colleague. Under hypnosis in her memory, young Liz leaves a building with a woman. On September 19, Liz agrees to Kevin Collins hypnotizing her as she doesn't understand her memory and she is also having blackouts. She remembers Peter August laying at the bottom of the stairwell and she has a flashback where she was arguing with a woman at the top of some stairs after leaving a building. On August 18, 2022, Elizabeth Baldwin is taking the hospital stairwell as the elevator is out of order. Finn thought he would never love again until he met Hayden. His guilt is part of what drove him to find a cure. Due to Raymond's ponzi scheme, the clinic where Finn was researching lost funding and he was unable to continue his research. During his research, Finn inadvertently exposed Reiko and himself to Blackwood's.Įven though it was Finn's fault she became sick, Reiko never got upset nor blamed him. However, Finn was set on continuing his research, so Reiko made the decision to stay with Finn. Reiko wanted to return home to her family. She would buy him ties with eye-catching things that he'd never think of or choose for himself.
Reiko would sometimes notice that Finn was obsessed with working overseas to find a cure for an illness called Blackwood's Syndrome. She made everybody happy and inspired them to have fun.
He thought she had an incredible bedside manner, unlike himself.
He claims she was the best doctor he'd ever known. In the 1990s, they were married on September 23 and she was his first marriage.
